Bester Generación, a company dedicated to the development, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of renewable energy infrastructures, has connected its third photovoltaic plant to network in the UK, specifically in Tiers Cross, a community located in the county of Pembrokeshire, southwest of Wales.

The new plant, with a total installed capacity of 28 MWp, is generating annually about 31.65 GWh of clean electricity, equivalent to the energy needed to power about 9,000 British households, avoiding the emission into the atmosphere of around 13,450 tCO2eq a year.

The evacuation of the energy is carried by a newly constructed substation belonging to the plant itself, with a power of 35 MVA, connecting the plant to the Western Power Distribution line of 132 kV.

This project has been implemented working with local companies and getting to employ 200 people. The PV plant covers an area of 60 acres, with 113,800 panels installed on fixed structures.

Jorge Fernando Real, Senior Project Manager-PV Solar for Bester Generación, highlights “the successful implementation of this project, thanks to Bester Generación’s team effectiveness and global expertise, reinforces the strategic positioning of our Group in the UK, where we are present with our own subsidiary”

Bester Generation is already operating other two photovoltaic plants in Britain, performing the operation and maintenance services as a continuation of EPC services, totaling 26 MWp and contributing 26.5 GWh per year to the electrical system.

The intention of the company is continue strengthening its presence in the UK, carrying out new projects under turnkey modality, so that in a short period of time will start the construction of new plants in one of the leading countries in photovoltaic megawatt installed in 2013. At the same time, it has an extensive portfolio of projects in development not only in this technology but also in biomass.
