It was born in September 2010 to cover the existing demand in the sector at world-wide level and in these years of trajectory it has consolidated like a company recognized internationally by its extraordinary quality of service.

1989

  • The management team Bester founded was originally part of Inetel.
  • Inetel, dedicated to electrical engineering and telecommunications, was founded in 1989.
  • With approximately 300 employees, Inetel had revenues of 30 million euros
  • In 1996, Inetel changed its name to Grupo AMS after several M&A operations.
  • The AMS Group, dedicated to electrical engineering and telecommunications, achieved revenues of € 200 million euros in 1996 and had 1,500 employees.

1996

2010

  • Foundation of Bester as a result of a spin-off from the renewable energies division of the AMS Group.
  • Creation of a branch in Italy after signing contracts as EPC companies in the Italian renewable energy market.
  • Completion of the first photovoltaic project, consisting of 5 photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 5 MW, located in Mesagne, Puglia.
  • Maintenance of solar thermal plants.
  • O&M of international photovoltaic plants. The first O&M contract is signed in Mesagne as a continuation of the EPC contract.
  • Bester creates a subsidiary in Istres to meet the needs of the French market.
  • First solar greenhouse project with an installed capacity of 10.5 MW through 55,000 photovoltaic modules spread over 112,000 square meters.
  • Bester implemented ISO 9001 for a Quality Management System and ISO 14001 for an Environmental Management System.

2012

  • Geographical expansion in Germany, Bulgaria and Romania.
  • Bester wins the tender for the construction of a 17.5 MW wind power plant located in Cerna, Romania, which it executed in 9 months.
  • Bester opens a new corporate headquarters in Seville.
  • Bester is accredited with OHSAS 18001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management.
  • Bester owns 3 photovoltaic solar projects in Romania, with powers of 56 MW, 27 MW and 7 MW.
  • Creation of a British subsidiary, following the construction of a 12MW solar energy project.
  • Bester receives Certification 14064-1, which indicates that the calculations of the carbon footprint have been audited, so it has a System for Control of Emissions of Greenhouse Gases.

2014

  • Consolidation in the English market with 72 MW as EPC company.
  • Start of the first Biomass plant.
  • Bester opens a branch in London and a subsidiary in the Middle East.
  • Change of business strategy: “value creation for the Group”.
  • Strong investment in the development of own projects.
  • Geographical expansion into Latin America with investments in Chile and Mexico.
  • Analysis of opportunities in the Middle East.
  • Creation of the international holding company Bester.
  • Bester opens a subsidiary in Egypt to meet Africa’s energy needs.
  • EPC of four projects with a total capacity of 39 MW in the United Kingdom, three of them developed by Progressum, one of the companies of the Bester group.
  • The Bester group focuses on strengthening the project development area.
  • Progressum opens its headquarters in Madrid.

2016

  • Launch of a new business line in Spain: EPC of photovoltaic systems for self-consumption of electricity.
  • Development of a portfolio of PV projects in Mexico of 1000 MW.
  • Foundation, supplier of qualified services to the new Mexican electricity market. It is formed by 3 groups with international experience in the energy sector.
  • Bester has acted as technical advisor in the design and construction phase of the 20 MWp Celano project, located in Italy, and as a supplier of main equipment.
  • O&M of 12 new photovoltaic plants in Italy, and 1 plant in Spain, totaling 22 MWp.
  • Member of PV Cycle (collection and recycling of modules).
  • Bester Latam opens an office in Mexico City, in the Mapfre tower.
  • Bester Latam builds 2 photovoltaic plants in Chihuahua, Torreoncitos and Rancho El Trece, of 35 MWp each. With a yield index of 81%, they produce 158,600 MWh/year. Both have a single-axis tracker structure. 73,000 tons of CO2 are avoided from entering the atmosphere.
  • Progressum is dedicated to the development of photovoltaic solar projects in both Mexico and Spain.

2017

2018

  • Execution of 2 photovoltaic plants in Mexico, in the state of Guanajuato, totaling 108 MWp.
  • Civil and electrical works for the emblematic 221 MW photovoltaic solar energy project in Vaqueiros, in the south of Portugal.
  • In 2019 Bester is building the Santiz, Valdelosa and Palacios del Arzobispo projects in Salamanca, Spain and SOLARA 4 in the Algarve, Portugal, totalling more than 300 MWp.

2021

  • In 2021, the company changed its name to Bester New Energy and began construction of the El Villar and Puertollano projects in Spain and Pontinia in Italy.
  • 2022, Currently, the Pontinia project is being continued and Castrum is being started, both in Italy.
